Samsung i450

Sporting a touch-sensitive music scroll wheel, Samsung's "Music Edition" i450 is the manufacturer's first mobile phone released in Australia to run th...

Symbian OS, excellent keypad and controls, decent features list, 3.5mm headphone jack

Touch-sensitive scroll wheel not responsive enough, slider doesn't feel solid enough, hands-free headset is proprietary, low-quality camera

The i450 is solid but not outstanding. The touch-sensitive scroll wheel has the potential to become an excellent control method, but currently isn't responsive enough.

Samsung i450 review: Symbian sounds good

In most people's minds Symbian and Samsung are two things that just don't go together. The Samsung i450 however might just be here to prove them wrong. Sporting the rare dual-slide design, it is one of the most interesting smartphone offerings...

If Samsung want to make a serious market stand with the i450, it will probably need to be released at an a bit lower price than N81. This however is only our opinion, and Samsung's marketing department might see things differently

Samsung SGH-i450

One look and I was sure this is a Nokia phone with Samsung written on it! Obviously I was wrong, but the i450 seems less Samsung and more Nokia. Moreover, the phone runs on Symbian 60. But giving Samsung no credit for its own phone would be wrong. The...

The phone costs Rs 13,250 and for this price you can also go for an SE W580i or a Nokia 5610, both music phones. The camera is elementary and there's no Wi-Fi connectivity. On the other hand, I like the form factor, the phone is fast, and the music...

Samsung i450

Finally, a mobile phone with Bang & Olufsen audio technology that we can actually afford.

Bang & Olufsen audio hardware. Nokia S60 operating platform. Funky music player interface. HSDPA data transfer speeds. Bundled 1GB MicroSD memory card.

Touch wheel is a bit tricky to use. No Wi-Fi. It's not the sexiest handset around.

If Samsung keep producing music phones like the i450, with Bang & Olufsen audio hardware, then Sony Ericsson's dominance of music-focused mobiles may come to an abrupt halt.

Samsung SGH-i450 - silver/blue review: Samsung SGH-i450 - silver/blue

Samsung SGH-i450 - silver/blue

The Samsung SGH-i450 has an attractive design with a bright display. Its music player has an easy-to-use interface and ergonomic controls, and its call and music quality was quite good.

The Samsung SGH-i450 has flat navigation controls and keypad buttons. Also, its camera took poor photos.

It can't pass muster as a camera phone, but as a quality music handset the Samsung SGH-i450 more than holds its own.

FIRST LOOK: Samsung Live Loud SGH-i450

A two-way slider' phone that feels a little like an iPod and has a speaker for your tunes. Samsung tries to get you to do away with your MP3 player.

The phone itself feels solidly built, weighs only 114g and looks a lot less flimsy than similar phones we've seen in the past. The i450 keypad is big, clear and feels tactile - which is a good feature that some manufacturers overlook - though the...

Samsung i450 Smartphone

Samsung's Symbian-based slider is an all-rounder, with a good mix of features

Tactile keys, speedy Symbian OS, 3.5mm ear-phone port, HSDPA (3.5G) ready

CIF resolution video recording, build quality and sliding mechanism could have been better
