Blu Life Play (Unlocked)

At $229, the Blu Life Play is a good unlocked Android smartphone for people who want an affordable device with a large screen, as long as they can give up LTE.

Bright, playful design. Incredibly light. Two SIM slots. High-resolution display. Almost stock Android.

No LTE. Low internal storage. Graphically intense games stutter. Mediocre call quality. Poor camera.

Camera, Conclusions The 8-megapixel rear camera isn't very good. Pictures are sharp enough, but color saturation is poor. Dark grays become blacks, making contrast an issue. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera is a pretty good one for such an...

Blu Products Life Play review

It's hard to zero in on an affordable yet satisfying unlocked Android smartphone. Other than the $299 LG Nexus 4 or pricey $569.99 Sony Xperia Z , there aren't a lot of viable options, at least in the U.S. market.

Blu Products' Life Play is very affordable for an unlocked smartphone. It also features an attractively thin design, a big screen, Android Jelly Bean, and a powerful camera.

The Life Play runs a slow processor and has just 4GB of internal storage. It isn’t compatible with some wired phone headsets and lacks 4G LTE support.

The unlocked $229 Blu Life Play offers Android Jelly Bean on the cheap, but getting the more expensive $299 LG Nexus 4 would be a wiser decision.

BLU Life Play Written Review

It's been a few years since Android, Google's mobile operating system, launched. Since then, we've seen a lot of different versions of hardware and software. One conversation has powered through the years, sometimes seemingly growing stronger with the...

Nice hardware color. Amazing 720p HD display. Lightweight and comfortable to hold. Relatively stock version of Android

Poor camera. Not enough built-in storage. Battery is too small. Not quite stock Android

: If you're looking for a device that's cheap, and doesn't need you to sign a new contract to get that cheap cost, the BLU Life Play is indeed a valid option. It's almost-stock version of Android means that updates shouldn't be too far behind from...

"Looks good ... does not work ... cannot be fixed"

Lets face it, any product can have a problem, the issue is whether the company stantds behind it to fix it. Blu products is not one of them. It takes at least 30 minutes to get somebody on the line at any time of the day. It took me 6 tries to finally...

"Very Nice Smartphone for the Money"

I've owned this phone for about 6 weeks. I have it activated on Ultra-mobile. Activation process was pretty painless - Ultra does require some configurations to use SMS, but was pretty easy to do with their generic android instructions. I'm a fan of...

Big screen. Plenty of processing for an average user. Feels like a more expensive phone.

No accessories, off-brand

Packs a BIG BANG for the Price

I have had this phone for about 3 weeks. I use it with tmobile and I get the non-LTE 4g. This i a snappy device that beats any other phone that I have purchased off contract. With my old phone there was a lot of lag while playing games, but not with...

this phone is amazing. I would recommend anyone to buy this who has at&t or tmobile. it has a beautiful screen at 720p (not quite 1080p but still good) the price on this is unbeatable for what you get; charger, case, screen protector. I would give...
