DJI Osmo Pocket Review | Trusted Reviews

DJI Osmo Pocket Review: our verdict on whether or not DJI's tiny, gimbal-stabilised camera is a big upgrade on your smartphone or GoPro for shooting video.

Shoots smooth, stabilised video in all lighting conditions ; Incredibly compact and genuinely pocketable ; App offers lots of depth and versatility ; Great vlogging mode ; Good battery life for its size

Needs accessories to unlock its full potential ; Autofocus can occasionally be sluggish ; Audio quality is only average ; Not waterproof without a case ; No livestreaming

A charming, unique little camera that mostly overcomes the limitations of its tiny size to produce impressive, cinematic video

DJI Osmo Pocket

The DJI Osmo Pocket is an intriguing travel camera for vloggers and social media personalities, but some issues keep it from reaching its full potential.

Easily portable. Crisp, stable 4K video at up to 60fps. Time-lapse and panoramic stitching options. Strong battery life.

Autofocus issues. So-so low-light performance. Requires phone or add-on control wheel for best experience. Promised accessories not yet on sale.

Bottom Line: The DJI Osmo Pocket is an intriguing travel camera for vloggers and social media personalities, but some issues keep it from reaching its full potential.

DJI Osmo Pocket is a supersmart, fully stabilized point-and-shoot camera

And yes, it's actually pocket-size.

DJI Osmo Pocket review: Sensational stabilisation in the palm of your hand

Looking for a palm-sized stabilised camera? This pocket-friendly gimbal and camera combination from DJI is without compare for both video and stills.

Super smooth footage without the scale ; Portable design ; Easy to use ; Stabilised slow-mo is awesome ; Powerful and versatile tracking modes ; Battery life is great considering its size

Modular connectors are small and potentially easy to lose ; Phone physical connection not sturdy ; 1-inch screen is small and difficult to see clearly

The DJI Osmo Pocket is a very capable and versatile tool for shooting stabilised video and photos when on the go. Its tiny size and awesome three-axis gimbal make it so convenient to capture smooth footage, while its battery lasts a good amount of time...

DJI Osmo Pocket review: Rock-steady Eddie

Small and perfectly formed, the DJI Osmo Pocket is a powerhouse of a pocket video camera – GoPro, watch out

3-axis stabiliser gives rock steady video ; Lots of useful modes to play with ; Shoots at up to 4K 60fps

No wireless built in ; Not waterproof without case ; Lacks a tripod thread

It may be best known for its drones, but DJI also clearly also wants a strong presence in the handheld camera space, something that GoPro currently enjoys pretty much unopposed. With the DJI Osmo Pocket, despite some shortcomings, it looks to have...

DJI Osmo Pocket

DJI's Osmo Pocket takes a drone-style camera and three-axis gimbal and puts it in a handheld format for ultra-smooth footage on the ground. Here's our review.

DJI Osmo Pocket Camera Review: Supersmall, Superstable

The Osmo Pocket isn't the first all-in-one camera-and-gimbal device, but its small size and wealth of features make it a very intriguing product. It works incredibly well and has a great set of features that will make it an essential part of any...

Good-quality video and photos ; Gimbal lets you take very steady video ; Robust controls and features

Moving gimbal can get damaged

The DJI Osmo Pocket is a tiny camera that can fit in your pocket and take really smooth video, but it's not for everyone.

The DJI Osmo Pocket Feels Like the Camcorder of the Future

We didn't know what to think about the Osmo Pocket when DJI announced the device earlier this month. It's basically a tiny drone camera and three-axis gimbal on a stick. There's a little screen so you can see what you're filming and some smart features...

Fantastic image stabilization and neat shooting modes

DJI Osmo Pocket review: A pocket-sized powerhouse

Whether you're a pro or an amateur, the DJI Osmo Pocket could easily convince you to ditch your prosumer video equipment since it does so much so well – with no gear bag needed. It has some limitations, but its price and features make it a solid buy.

Literally pocket-sized ; Starts up fast ; Easy to use ; Lots of fun video/photo modes ; Works well with or without a smartphone

No tripod mount ; Usage limited without buying accessories ; Android app missing features ; Still photography features very limited
