After a few generations of only offering relatively small refinements to its flagship soundbars, Samsung really rings in the changes for 2025’s HW-Q990F. A brave move – but for the most part, one I very much approve of

Easy setup. Huge soundstage in smaller rooms. Smaller and more discreet than "traditional" home theater audio systems.

Q Symphony (integration with Samsung TVs) is overrated.

Clear, detailed and dynamic sound ; Rich, controlled and tonally varied bass ; Easy set-up with excellent connectivity

Design is starting to look a little bit dated ; Dot matrix display is hard to read

The best Dolby Atmos soundbar system just got better – the Samsung HW-Q990F nails it with a crisp and engaging sound and a whole new level of bass performance

Samsung managed to make the subwoofer smaller but even better ; Fantastic looking design ; Easy to use and setup ; Q-Symphony Sound when paired with a compatible Samsung TV ; 11.1.4 True Dolby ATMOS sound also wireless ; Space Fit Sound is like magic

I won't lie, it's expensive and some may shy away from the price ; It is a chunky boy and may not fit under some TVs on a stand

The Samsung HW-Q990F is an incredible 11.1.4 surround soundbar that is easy to connect and performs with excellence as a main home theater sound source. I paired it with a Q-Symphony compatible TV and a TCL QM8 and in both cases, it sounded amazing....
