Sanyo Zio by Kyocera (Cricket Wireless)

The Sanyo Zio by Kyocera is a much more viable smartphone for Cricket Wireless subscribers now that it runs a current version of Android.

Much improved thanks to the Android 2.2 upgrade. Sharp screen resolution. Good camcorder.

Unresponsive touch screen. Somewhat sluggish.

OS Updates, Multimedia, and Conclusions Since the Zio finally runs a current version of Android, you get all sorts of benefits. Some of the highlights are native Microsoft Exchange support; free Google Maps Navigation for voice-enabled, turn-by-turn...

Sanyo Zio by Kyocera (Sprint)

The Sanyo Zio is a lightweight, touch screen Android slab with a high-res screen, but a frustrating touch experience.

Sharp screen resolution. Lightweight. Useful Sprint ID interface.

Unresponsive touch screen. Sluggish. Buggy.

Camera and Conclusions The 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera has no flash. Test photos looked sharp but slightly distorted, as if the camera was cranking the sharpness adjustment without having quite enough actual resolution. The auto-focus also added...

Sanyo Zio SCP-8600 (Sprint) review

Editors' note: Since Sprint's Sanyo Zio closely resembles Cricket Wireless's Zio, in this review we'll concentrate on the differences between the two devices. For a full description of the Zio's design and features, see our Sanyo Zio M6000 review .

The Sanyo Zio has a decent feature set and agreeable quality. We welcome Android OS 2.1.

The Zio's data speeds are rather slow and speakerphone calls were shrill. The Sprint ID experience is rather forced.

Sprint's Sanyo Zio will pale in comparison with Sprint's other Android handsets, but it offers functional features and serviceable performance at an affordable price.

Sanyo Zio Review

The Sanyo Zio is a smartphone from Kyocera. It has pretty much all that you would expect from a smartphone including a QWERTY keyboard, however that keyboard is onscreen. It is best that you read this complete review if you are considering the purchase...

The Sanyo Zio is a great entry-level device that offers both the basic functions of a mobile phone and high end features seen in more expensive phone models. The Zio features a unique and sturdy design, usable features, relatable user interface and...

Sanyo Zio review

The Sanyo Zio is a new entry-level Android phone (we're reviewing the Sprint version) and one of the first devices to have the new Sprint ID system for customization. I'm a huge proponent o...

No review is complete without some final impressions. The shell and build quality of the Zio is pretty low-end. This is offset somewhat by the graceful styling and design, which really does look good -- even with cheaper materials. The internal...

Sanyo Zio Review by Aaron

After focusing on their dumbphone business for a few years, Sanyo (Kyocera) is back in the smartphone game with the Sanyo Zio, one of the first Sprint ID enabled devices

99 price point makes Android available to the masses

The Zio is exceptionally laggy in all tasks; battery life is mediocre; plastic body makes it feel cheap

On paper, the Zio is a solid mid-range Android phone, complete with Sprint's new Sprint ID service. Unfortunately, real life testing tells another story. The Zio is laggy and incredibly slow at even the most basic tasks, leading me to believe that all...

Sanyo Zio Hands On, Updated with Video

You can call the Sanyo Zio low-end, you can call it a remarkably good phone for $99, you can call it retro what with the trackball ...just don't call it Zay-Oh or Zee-Oh. It's pronounced Zai-Oh...

More photos after the break - Update: check out the quick video demo after the break, which features the Lo2yo Latino Sprint ID screen. Update 2: video fixed. Mac Haters: feel free to mock iMovie.

Kyocera (Sanyo) bangs out its first Android handset in the Zio. The Zio, which runs Android 1.6, is one of the only smartphones available from Cricket Wireless.

This phone gots a slow process and everytime I charge my phone, that little light keep going on and off everytime I make movement. Oh yeah, it got a slow and retarded battery life.
