Motorola Droid Turbo review: better than the Moto X, but only a little

Once upon a time, not all that long ago, Motorola released an excellent flagship phone called the Moto X. Sure, it didn't have the best battery ever and

Long battery life ; Attractive Quad HD screen ; Powerful performance ; Camera a clear improvement over the Moto X's

Less charming design than the Moto X ; No expandable memory ; It's exclusive to Verizon

While it lacks the style and charm of the 2014 Moto X, the Droid Turbo is a powerhouse that manages to outperform its relative in nearly every way that matters. Sadly, it's a Verizon exclusive so the rest of you (unless you live in Brazil and Mexico...

Motorola Droid Turbo hands-on: First look

This is the Motorola Droid Turbo - Motorola's strongest claim at the high-end throne yet. Built around the strong foundation of the Moto X (2014), Nexus 6 and Motorola's previous Droids it pools together a premium build, pure Android with exclusive...

It's a shame this Quad HD-equipped, almost-stock device is only available for Verizon subscribers, because it has potential to be a big seller.

Crisp, clear Quad HD display with fantastic viewing angles ; Long lasting battery life that lives up to Motorola's promises ; Top-of-the-line processor running near-stock Android

Only one front-facing speaker ; Boring, basic design that will only appeal to a subset of users

if you’re locked in to Big Red and are looking for an all-around great phone that can do just a little bit more than your friend’s—and you don’t mind its uninspiring, utilitarian design—the Droid Turbo...

Motorola Droid Turbo ( 32GB, metallic red)

Like a lot of top-of-the-line phones these days, it has an eye-watering 1,440p HD display and all the specs to impress. Motorola's excellent software is always listening for your command, and a fast-charging 3,900mAh battery is icing on the cake....

Hands-free voice controls and epically long battery life supercharge the Motorola Droid Turbo. Its high screen resolution and crisp, nimble camera earn it bonus points.

A sharp bottom point makes the Droid Turbo uncomfortable to hold, and the black color's nylon backing feels cheap. The heavy phone also heats up fast.

Even with its hefty design, the Motorola Droid Turbo's robust battery, powerful processor and vivid display put it on the short list for Verizon customers.

Droid Turbo review

Meet Motorola's supercharged Android phone for Verizon

5.2-inch quad HD display ; Top-of-the-line specs ; 48-hour battery life ; Qi + Turbo charging

Verizon-only ; Subdued design ; Moto X a better deal

Droid Turbo is Motorola's Android phone hat-trick following the Nexus 6 and Moto X. It's the almost-perfect blend of the two with advanced specs in a subdued one-handed 5.2-inch design. You just have to be Verizon customer.

Motorola Droid Turbo review: Professional design, Moto experiences, massive battery

A common concern with the Moto X is its rather small capacity battery. Verizon and Motorola fixed that with the Droid Turbo and this is the Moto X you want if you are a Verizon customer.

I bought and used last year's Moto X for nearly a year even with lower-end specs because the Motorola experiences were so great. With the Droid Turbo, Motorola is offering up even better experiences while providing one of the highest end devices...
