Stay away from this Turkey

 

I bought one of these units as the price was excellent and I really wanted to start recording on dics and move away from VHS. I was very impressed how the machine worked, the edit features, the quality of the picture and various options for recording....

Easy to use as long as not broken.Several choices of recording Quality / Length

Non existent support.If it breaks - chuck it.

Not Worth the Hassle

 

I have to agree with some of the other reviews - I too had my automatic chapter settings not show up on discs, was frustrated by the 9 character limit on titles (not even enough to say "1/2005-4/2006"), and was annoyed by the inability to read titles...

Multiple audio/video options, easy to get live technical support.

Poor documentation, 9 character title limit, somewhat clunky interface, some features not guaranteed.

I picked this up today, November 23, 2007 at PC Richard for $49 and have already recorded about 3 hours of video via the AV3 composite input in SP mode. The composite source video, which is being played from and was recorded on HI 8 media on an RCA...

Breaking my own rule

 

I have a rule when it comes to electronics. Buy the best. Before buying anything I read a lot, browse a lot, research everything and consider all of the major brands. So how come I've got a Protron PD-DVR100 sitting under my ridiculously overpriced TV?...

All that you pay for and a little more. Good feature set.

Remote Is a Pain in the A**

 

I rather fancy this recorder except that the remote as One person stated Doesn't respond well. And my guess after taking one of these apart was that the circuit board doesn't fasten in very well. I put some (what they call space age foam I guess). ...

cheap, feature rich, decent playback and recording.

questionable reliability, ugly interface, stolen design.
